MobileAccess Universal Wireless Networks Deployed at Grande Lakes Orlando
Solution Provides Pervasive Coverage for Cellular/PCS and WLAN Services throughout Grande Lakes’ Indoor and Outdoor Facilities
Vienna, Va. — March 6, 2007 — MobileAccess Networks, the foremost in-building wireless innovator, announced today that Acela Technologies, Inc., a Maryland–based wireless communications engineering and integration company, deployed the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network in a solution it recently designed and implemented throughout the 1,332,700 square feet of the Grande Lakes Orlando resort in Orlando, Florida. The MobileAccess state-of-the-art wireless network infrastructure provides seamless coverage for multiple wireless services, enabling Grande Lakes’ clients, guests, hotel management and staff to enjoy the convenience and efficiency of wireless voice and data communications throughout the resort, at any time.
Grande Lakes wanted support for a wide range of wireless services, including cellular/PCS from multiple wireless service providers, wireless high-speed Internet services and wireless-enabled applications such as Voice over Wi-Fi (VoWiFi) and Wireless Point of Sale (WPOS). After a detailed analysis of the resort’s current and future technical and business needs, Acela Technologies selected the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network as the foundation of their solution.
With their engineering expertise, Acela Technologies delivered the MobileAccess infrastructure as part of a complete turnkey system, providing the design, engineering, installation, activation, commissioning and lifecycle maintenance services for the entire project. This multi-phased project encompasses the majority of the indoor and outdoor facilities at Grande Lakes Orlando, including more than 1,500 guest rooms and suites, more than 100,000 square feet of meeting space, multiple restaurants, two outdoor pools, a spa and fitness center, and several specialty shops and boutiques.
“Acela Technologies’ turnkey solution based on the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network technology gives us a competitive edge in attracting business and recreational travelers to Grande Lakes Orlando,” said Steve Contos, vice president and managing director of the resort. “Our customers demand world-class service and amenities and we’ve recognized that robust wireless communications are high on their list of expectations. Whether they’re traveling for business or pleasure, everyone wants to stay connected to their families, friends, clients and colleagues. With the MobileAccess and Acela solution’s comprehensive support for multiple wireless voice and data applications, our customers are able to depend on their cell phones, PDAs and other wireless devices throughout the resort.”
“With our unique understanding of Grande Lakes’ current and long term wireless application needs and discerning client base and staff, Acela Technologies imposed stringent design criteria to ensure appropriate signal coverage for a broad range of wireless applications that includes cellular/PCS, Wi-Fi, VoWi-Fi, and WPOS,” said Daryl Boffman, president and CEO of Acela Technologies, Inc. “With the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network, we were able to quickly and cost effectively provide a state-of-the-art infrastructure to improve the wireless experience for the Grande Lakes’ clientele, management and staff. The system also offers the flexibility for the resort to adapt to new, perhaps unanticipated, future wireless requirements.”
“Offering pervasive wireless coverage is no longer a convenient option in the hospitality industry, it’s a requirement for winning new business and achieving high levels of customer satisfaction,” said Cathy Zatloukal, president and CEO of MobileAccess Networks. “By implementing Acela Technologies’ leading-edge wireless solution, Grande Lakes Orlando is distinguishing itself as one of the most forward-looking hospitality resorts, giving its clients and associated management and staff a competitive advantage as well as additional productivity tools to better serve their discerning client base.”
As the managed services provider for Grande Lakes Orlando, iBAHN was instrumental in ensuring the new system was appropriately configured and implemented. “iBAHN was able to apply its expertise in wireless network configuration and service deployment to ensure the new system would deliver for Grande Lakes Orlando,” said Gregory G. Hodges, COO of iBAHN. “We are committed to delivering the services and support necessary to help our partner hotels provide innovative service to their guests.”
