MobileAccess Drives Wireless Adoption in Hospitality Industry

Wireless Innovator Joins Hotel Technology Next Generation Trade Association; Helping Set New Standards in High-Tech Market

Vienna, Va.—March 6, 2007––MobileAccess Networks, the foremost in-building wireless innovator, announced today strong momentum in the hospitality industry resulting from widespread deployments of the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network at premier casino, hotel and resort campuses across the United States. In addition, to further its market penetration, MobileAccess has joined Hotel Technology Next Generation (HTNG), a group dedicated to helping hoteliers and technology vendors generate next-generation, customer-centric technologies. MobileAccess’ universal wireless platform serves as a unified, multi-service infrastructure that provides clients, guests, hotel management and staff with the convenience and efficiency of ubiquitous wireless voice and data communications coverage.

Hotels and resorts are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience and reliable access to wireless services. Seamless coverage for wireless applications is one amenity business and leisure travelers alike have come to expect and depend on from any premier facility. As a result, the need for flexible, scalable and cost-effective in-building wireless solutions in the hospitality industry has grown steadily. The MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network is uniquely positioned to meet the needs of large and often spread out hotel, resort and casino campuses by delivering a unified solution that supports a wide array of services and devices––from wireless LAN (WLAN) and building automation to public safety radios, cell phones, pagers and PDAs––while overcoming the coverage, interference and signal degradation issues often inherent in large facilities. In addition, the MobileAccess’ infrastructure easily adapts to accommodate future wireless requirements or physical facility expansions.

“Today’s hoteliers seek technology solutions that help them meet the day-to-day communications needs of guests and staff,” said Jeff Kunst, MobileAccess vice president of marketing. “MobileAccess’ solution offers customer-centric wireless solutions that meet current demands and scale for future requirements, making us a cost-effective choice in the short and long term. By joining HTNG, we are accepting the important responsibility of helping to shape and guide the next-generation of wireless solutions and of helping the hospitality industry continue to improve business value and customer satisfaction.”

To date, the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network is installed in numerous hospitality outfits, including: Grande Lakes Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida; Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno, Nevada; and Aladdin Resort and Casino, future Home of Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

MobileAccess and its partner, Acela Technologies, a wireless communications engineering and integration provider, are members of HTNG’s In-Room Technology Workgroup. The workgroup meets throughout the year to develop guidelines for in-building wireless coverage solutions. This year, the group developed a whitepaper that serves as a guide for HTNG members looking to deploy wireless technologies. The white paper sets new standards for wireless support while helping hoteliers make cost-effective decisions about selecting an in-building wireless solution that meets their needs.

“The addition of MobileAccess to the Hotel Technology Next Generation group will help the In-Room Technology Workgroup develop solutions that add business value across the hospitality industry,” said Douglas C. Rice, executive vice president and CEO of HTNG. “Today, travelers have come to depend on their cell phones as their primary mode of communications while staying, working or just vacationing in a hotel.”
