MobileAccess Experiences Record-Breaking Growth in 2006
Momentum from New Channel Partnerships Position MobileAccess to Increase Market Share
Vienna, Va. ––February 26, 2007––MobileAccess announced today record-breaking growth and profitability in 2006. These accomplishments were spurred on by strong demand for the company’s innovative Universal Wireless Network solution and fueled by bundled enterprise offerings with leading providers of wireless applications and services. By coupling its unique enterprise wireless platform with best-in-class solutions from industry leaders such as GE Healthcare, MobileAccess increased its market pull and boosted equipment sales by over 85 percent. The momentum from these channel relationships positions MobileAccess to increase market share in the burgeoning in-building wireless systems industry, which according to ABI Research is expected to exceed $3.6 billion by 2011.
“Over the past twelve months, we experienced widespread customer adoption in markets such as healthcare, hospitality and commercial real estate, helping us to achieve corporate profitability - a significant feat in today’s market,” said Cathy Zatloukal, president and CEO of MobileAccess. “The wireless industry continues to grow and enterprises recognize that over the next five years, their business-critical wireless applications will be delivered over an increasingly diverse and complex set of wireless services and frequency bands. As our success in 2006 clearly demonstrates, these organizations are now responding strategically, investing in a universal wireless infrastructure that delivers pervasive wireless coverage, readily absorbs new wireless services and scales cost effectively.”
In addition to the benefits it provides to enterprise customers, the MobileAccess universal wireless approach gives the company’s solution partners unique opportunities to accelerate the time-to-market for their wireless applications and service offerings. For example, MobileAccess and GE Healthcare announced the availability of Wireless Medical Telemetry Service (WMTS) on GE Enterprise Access (re-branding of the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network), enabling hospitals to deploy wireless patient monitoring on the same infrastructure as their other wireless services and applications. As a result, MobileAccess experienced tremendous growth in the healthcare sector, bringing its hospital-specific solutions to institutions such as Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago and The Children’s Hospital in Denver.
MobileAccess also became a member of the Cisco Technology Developer Program, reaffirming that the company’s WLAN solution is compatible with Cisco access points. Hearst Corporation deployed the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network in its new 46-story Hearst Tower, the first “green” commercial skyscraper in New York City, to support a variety of wireless services including Hearst’s Cisco-based WLAN implementation.
In 2006, the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network also became the de-facto wireless solution for a new breed of “cutting-edge” facilities. The Arizona Cardinals set a new benchmark for NFL Stadiums with a retractable fabric roof, rollout natural grass field, luxury boxes and state-of-the-art wireless communications with the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network. The MobileAccess solution was also deployed at several other prominent facilities, including: the Homer Building, a significant architectural landmark located in Washington, D.C.’s commercial center; Lincoln Square in Bellevue, Washington; and Peppermill Hotel Casino in Reno, Nevada.
Finally, the Mobile Enterprise Alliance, a global advocacy group promoting the business benefits of workforce mobility, named Northwestern Memorial Hospital the recipient of the 2006 Mobile Impact™ Award for the organization’s installation of the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network. The hospital also received a prestigious 2006 InfoWorld 100 award for its MobileAccess deployment.
