MobileAccess Strengthens Global Market Presence with EMEA Sales Headquarters

IT and Telecom Veteran Mario Maas to Head In-Building Wireless Leader’s Business Development in the Region

Vienna, Va. and The Netherlands —October, 29 2007— MobileAccess, the foremost enterprise wireless innovator, today announced it is aggressively expanding its business in EMEA, a key region in the $3 billion global market for in-building wireless systems (ABI Research: Dec. 2006).  MobileAccess has tapped Mario Maas, an IT and telecommunications veteran, to drive adoption of the company’s innovative Universal Wireless Network solution across the enterprise and hospitality markets of Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

“This is the ideal time for MobileAccess to bolster its position in EMEA and capture the burgeoning market for advanced in-building solutions in that region,” said Alex Rogers, principal at HarbourVest Partners, a long-standing investor in MobileAccess. “The company has tremendous momentum with a successful growth history, a healthy balance sheet and a differentiated product offering, so conditions are perfect for an aggressive expansion into new markets.”

From its new office in the Netherlands, MobileAccess is initially targeting three areas: the Middle East, Western Europe/UK and Eastern Europe/Russia. As director of channel development, Maas is building a network of distributors and resellers that includes system integrators, application service providers, operators and wireless service providers. These organizations will be tasked with selling the MobileAccess Universal Wireless Network to Fortune 100 companies, manufacturing facilities, government agencies, healthcare organizations, universities, conference centers, airports, and hotels, among other large facilities.

“We are focusing on EMEA because a confluence of events is heightening demand for a flexible wireless infrastructure solution like ours.  The emergence of Mobile WiMAX in EMEA will accelerate the need for robust in-building wireless coverage.  In addition, the development of tall buildings in Western Europe and the strong economic development in the Middle East will create a surge in the number of large facilities seeking a state-of-the-art solution for their critical wireless services and applications,” said Cathy Zatloukal, CEO of MobileAccess. “Mario’s experience and expertise within the EMEA telecommunications markets make him the ideal candidate to expand our profile and presence in the region.”

Maas brings to MobileAccess more than 18 years of experience in networking (data, Wi-Fi, WiMAX and cellular), marketing, and business development. Most recently, he was sales director in EMEA for Nomadix Inc., a market leader in gateway software that establishes professional hotspots within the hospitality, telecom and enterprise markets. Before that, Maas served Lucent Technologies as senior business development manager for EMEA and APAC.

“Operator strategy, regulatory trends, technology developments, market dynamics and end-user demand for multiple wireless services are all key factors in MobileAccess’ decision to accelerate its focus on EMEA,” said Maas. “I look forward to leveraging my distribution and reseller contacts to help MobileAccess quickly capitalize on this very lucrative market.”
